Again at C4S, we're offering a Saturday Breakfast Club CE! This is a FREE, 45-minute CE program over breakfast where companies who sponsor/exhibit will provide speakers to share expertise on dental products, services, industry trends, etc. Attendees will enjoy the same breakfast provided for other attendees, but in a private room. While the program is free, space is limited and attendees must register.

HPP Recognizing the Clinical Consequences of Low ALP (Disease & Diagnosis): Dental Manifestations

HPP is a metabolic bone disease that has devastating multi-systemic consequences in pediatrics and adults. The hallmark of HPP is low Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) and one of the presenting symptoms found in many patients is the dental manifestations.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the multi-systemic consequences of low ALP in the body.
  • Recognize the dental manifestations of HPP in pediatric patients.
  • Recognize the dental manifestations of HPP in adult patients.
  • Next steps upon suspicion of HPP.

About the Speaker

Dr. Mark Cannon is an adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. He is also a Professor of Otolaryngology at the Division of Dentistry, Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, an Attending Physician at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital, and a member of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to being the founder of Associated Dental Specialists of Long Grove (1981); he is the Research Coordinator of the Pediatric Dental residency program at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago.  

He lectures on many oral health topics, including evolutionary oral medicine, the gateway microbiomes, biological and bioactive dental materials (patents owner), probiotics, and all aspects of everyday Pediatric Oral and Systemic Health.
